Banking Commissioner Says Wyoming Banks Safe and Sound

Click here to read a recent Press Release from Wyoming Banking Commissioner, Jeff Vogel regarding the health of Wyoming Banks.

Capital is Strong

A bank's capital (money invested in the bank by shareholders and earnings retained by the bank to support bank growth) is a customer's best safety net. The measurements of a bank's capital in relationship to the size of the bank are called capital ratios. Bank of Jackson Hole has among the best capital ratios of any bank that operates in Teton County. This means that relative to our size, our bank has a greater amount of our stockholders' investment and our retained earnings available to provide a margin of safety to our customers than any other bank operating in the county.

Bucking National Recession Trends

Not only does the Jackson Hole area offer a unique and vibrant financial and real estate climate that does not reflect many national trends, Bank of Jackson Hole's loan portfolio is of excellent quality. Bank of Jackson Hole has no exposure to the sub-prime mortgages and related investments that are causing problems for larger banks and money center banks. Community banks like ours seldom have significant exposure to such investments. The business environment around Jackson Hole remains strong, and Bank of Jackson Hole remains dedicated to following the best practices in the banking industry.
